Alright. Back in the day (on the RV-7) I used to do a ceremonial plans-change picture every time I started a new part of the airplane. In honor of that, I’m going to do the same here. Behold, the ceremonial plans-change picture. This time, it’s a left fuel tank. (But actually a left extended range fuel tank. Surprise, surprise, it’s actually the exact same as a left main fuel tank).

So first up was to fish out all the correct (left) ribs from beneath the workbench, and photo-document the orientation of my ER z brackets.

Then, it got hot and I had to listen to a work meeting, so I headed inside with the left ER tank skin and got to devinyling. I know a lot of people think this is a waste of time, but I like doing it, and it becomes good masking for either priming (not on the fuel tank, though) or prosealing (yes on the fuel tank).

Once I was done with devinyling both inside and outside, I propped the tank in the stand and snapped this “finished” picture.
