Main Wing Skins

Short day today. Well, short on topic. Long on hours.

After prepping the main ring ribs the other day, I decided that the next steps were to…

  1. Cleco wing skins including doublers
  2. Fit and drill ER tank to spar.
  3. Drill skins to final size.
  4. Transfer tiedown hole onto ER tank.
  5. Drill rib attach holes to spar.
  6. Disassemble all
  7. Countersink all spar attach holes. Install nutplates.
  8. Dimple the ribs with a hand squeezer. Dimple rear spar.
  9. Deburr, prime, rivet ribs to spars.
  10. deburr and dimple skins.
  11. Temp Install LE and Tanks
  12. Top Main Skin Riveting
  13. Build LE and Tanks

So, I got to work, but neglected the camera. Here’s a single shot of getting all 8 wing skins clecoed to the skeleton, with the ER tanks just resting in position.

2.0 hours of clecoing. My wrist is tired.

I'm too lazy to fill this out. If you are actually reading this, send me a message, and I'll spend some effort on it.
