I’m still waiting the 72 hours to let the tank sealant dry before I attempt the leak test.
I was trying to figure out what to do next, and the aileron attach brackets seem like a good next step.
The instruction manual (as it should) just says “INSTALLING THE AILERON BRACKETS: Assemble the W-413 and W-414 Aileron bracket assemblies as shown on DWG 10A. Install them on the rear spar by lining up the matched holes, drilling, deburring, and riveting.”
Except Vans has included Service Bulletin SB 16-03-28-78 in the kit. Most of the content is inspecting and adding brackets to a flying airplane if you develop cracks. For me, it boils down to adding the two brackets on the left of this picture into my build plan.

So I fished out all the parts for the 4 aileron brackets and mocked them up on the wing, matchdrilled, and pulled them back off.
Next up: Deburr, edge-finish, clean, dry, prime, and some riveting!
This stuff gets attached to the wings, but I’m going to log it under ailerons for ease of finding this post later.
