Left ER Tank Baffle Riveting

Tonight was a big night.

After checking and re-checking everything inside of the tank (including rivet encapsulation, fillet creation, and float sender bending), I prepped the skin and baffle for closing the tank. (It’s not really closing yet, I haven’t finished the access panel.)

Once again, I didn’t take many pictures, but here’s the tank after riveting all the z brackets in place.

This looks really cool on the workbench.

Becuase the bead of sealant sitting between the baffle and the skin is subject to gravity, I flipped the tank over to help the bead settle into the crevice inside the tank.

This looks equally cool.

The next step is to close the tank access panel, then wait 48-72 hours before leak testing.

I’d like to leak test on Sunday, so I need to get the access panel complete tommorrow.

185 rivets 9 each on the two outermost ribs, 7 each for the 5 inner ribs, and 66 for each skin to baffle joint.

2.0 hours

I'm too lazy to fill this out. If you are actually reading this, send me a message, and I'll spend some effort on it.
